Don’t Miss The Pittie Party!
Help support a wonderful cause! Our friends at the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area are holding their annual Pittie Party on Saturday October 21, 2017. Don’t miss it!
The Pit Bull Breed makes up a large percentage of the adoptable animals at the Humane Society of Harrisburg. Unfortunately, the misconceptions about this breed are a big part of the reason for this. But Pit Bulls really are loving companions.
If you’re an animal lover (and we know you are), enjoy a free, fun-filled day celebrating breed equality. Leashed canine pals of all breeds are invited, too! So get out of the house and show your support…
Visitors can enjoy 25+ vendors for pets and pet owners, food and drink, a photo booth, a costume contest, a pittie parade, kids activities, and adoption and retail specials! Well-known Pit Bull advocacy groups will also be on hand at the event. A low-cost vaccination and microchipping clinic will also be available the morning of the event.
“HSHA works hard to advocate for the Pit Bull, as they truly make wonderful and loving companions,” said Aspasia Yeager, HSHA’s Director of Resident Services. “It’s important to show that the breed’s often incorrect reputation is primarily a result of human irresponsibility and to educate the public on humane pet ownership.”
During the event, adoptions of resident HSHA Pit Bulls will be 50% off!
